March is the month for car racing fans, with the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park. Sunday March 17 is race day, so hire party catering in Sydney and celebrate the high-speed action. The driver line-up includes Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Australia’s own Daniel Ricciardo.

2. Cricket World Cup: May 30 - July 14

If you’re looking for an excuse to have a backyard bash, hire a hot dog cart and get out your bat and ball, here it is. England will kick off the Cricket World Cup action at London’s The Oval on May 30, taking on South Africa. The Aussie team plays Afghanistan in Bristol on June 01.

3. FIFA Women’s World Cup: June 07 - July 07

Australia’s Westfield Matildas will contest the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, after qualifying for the seventh successive time. 4. Wimbledon: July 01 - 14

Hosting an English garden party is a great way to enjoy prestigious Wimbledon, the oldest tennis tournament in the world. Across two weeks at the beginning of July, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get out the patio heaters, set up the big screen and have a hit and giggle in the backyard as your favourite players battle it out at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

5. Tour de France: July 6 - 28

Spectacular scenery combines with world-class cycling in the Tour de France, making it a perfect event for armchair travel! The race starts in Brussels and crosses regions including the Pyrenees and the Alps, before an exciting finish along the Champs Elysees in Paris.

6. Rugby World Cup: September 20 - November 02

Japan has the honour of hosting the 2019 Rugby World Cup, at venues including Tokyo Stadium and Sapporo Dome. The qualified teams include the host country, France, Argentina, England, Russia, New Zealand and Australia, so have your green and gold at the ready! Set up a big screen to watch all the action, and make catering easy with a barbecue and a variety of scrumptious relishes everyone will love.

7. World Artistic Gymnastics Championships: October 04 - 13

Grace, balance and incredible strength will descend on Stuttgart, Germany, for the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in October. The event serves as the first qualification competition for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, so expect to see the world’s best gymnasts in fine form.

And that’s really just the tip of the iceberg in terms of this year’s lineup of top sporting events. You certainly won’t run out of chances to celebrate with a hot dog...or four!
